Things To Do

• James River Park System

  This park was named the best urban park in the US - it has 550 acres lining both banks of the James River. Here you can find great kayaking, white water rafting & so much more!

• Maymont

  Here you will find a 100 acre Victorian country estate once home to James & Sallie Dooley. The Romanesque style mansion was completed in 1893. When the Dooley's died in the 1920's they had no heirs so they bequeathed Maymont to the City of Richmond. Today Maymont is a museum with an intact mansion, a nature center with a children's farm & wildlife exhibits as well as numerous gardens throughout.

• Byrd Park

  Here you will find a 200 acre park with a mile long trail, amphitheatre, 3 small lakes, tennis courts & much more! Dogwood Dell Amphitheatre has summer concerts, the Summer Festival of Arts, as well as the Fourth of July fireworks! The Carillon is a WW1 monument and is home to the City's live Nativity Pageant!
