As 2022 ended I looked back to reflect upon the year and to look forward to the coming year!  It’s now a brand new year and, as many know, the real estate market in 2022 was anything but normal!  We started off on a red red hot real estate market, where it wasn’t unusual for a house to go on the market at (what seemed like crazy high prices) only to be bumped up by a huge number of offers going astronomically high above asking price!  And then, in July 2022, we started to hit the brakes – things started to cool down (but only slightly) while interest rates ran up much much higher than they were only a few months ago!  And then we came into the fall/winter selling season, which normally is a much slower selling time, but, depending on the location in Richmond and the price point, we didn’t see the crazy bidding wars, but we still continued to see things go under contract quickly!

So now the big question is – what will the market be like this year?  And if you are thinking of buying a home, what is your real estate goal?  Do you want to buy that first home, so you can say good-bye to your landlord?  Do you want to relocate to Richmond?  Do you want to sell your current home and upgrade to a larger home?  Or downsize to a smaller home or condo/townhome?  Do you want to start getting into investment properties?
